谢青(Ken Xie)(1963-), is a Chinese American cybersecurity expert and successful entrepreneur.  He is a billionaire businessman who founded three cybersecurity firms, Systems Integration Solutions (SIS), NetScreen, and Fortinet, that have shaped the cybersecurity industry.

Xie was born and raised in China. He graduated from Tsinghua University with a B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering, and from Stanford University with an M.S. in electrical engineering.  Xie started his first network security company SIS in 1993, designed software firewall product while he was studying at Stanford University.  After realizing that the performance limitations of a software firewall running on PC/server, Xie then started NetScreen in 1996.  He led the company developed the first ASIC and dedicated hardware systems for high performance firewall and VPNs.  In 2000,  Xie founded Fortinet, which pioneered Unified Threat Management (UTM) that provides a single point of protection against threats and fills network security gaps left by traditional firewalls and VPNs.  Fortinet is one of the top 3 network security companies in the world.  Xie is also a founding member and a member of board of directors of the Cyber Threat Alliance and the Center for Cybersecurity for the World Economic Forum.

Xie holds numerous patents in cybersecurity and is widely recognized for his business success and technology innovation, including: Fortune’s businessmen of the Year and Forbes 400 list in 2020; Frost & Sullivan named Xie as Legends of Silicon Valley in 2013; Top 25 Chinese-Americans in Business by Forbes in 2010 and “Father of UTM” by InfoSecurity cover story in 2011 etc.
