The Chinese American Parents Association of Northern Virginia (CAPA NOVA) fully endorses the Virginia House Bill 127 (HB127), which bans all Governor’s Schools from discriminating against any applicants on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin, during the admission process.
CAPA-NOVA is a non-profit organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia. CAPA-NOVA works to unite, empower, and advance the Chinese American community and broader Asian American communities by building community relationships, promoting education and learning, and advocating equal rights and opportunities on all fronts.
CAPA-NOVA believes academic merit should be the primary consideration when selecting students for admissions to the Governor’s Schools. Any considerations given in favor of any groups over others is unconstitutional.
