Chinese American Parents Association of Northern Virginia
Public comment will be accepted by the School Board in three ways during this meeting, including comments delivered in-person at the Administration Building, comments provided remotely and written comments. Details about signing up for each method are noted below. In-person speakers will present their comments first during the meeting. IN-PERSON PUBLIC COMMENT In-person public comment will be accepted in the School Board Room at the LCPS Administration Building. Please complete the Public Comment Registration for School Board Meetings form to sign up to make in-person comments, or contact the Superintendent’s Office at 571-252-1020. “No contact” walk-in registration will also be accepted in the lobby of the Administration Building, starting 30 minutes prior to the meeting until 5 minutes before the start of the meeting. A limited number of speakers will be allowed in the Administration Building at one time. Speakers are asked to check-in at the double doors to the left of the building’s main entrance starting 30 minutes prior to the meeting. Each in-person speaker will be assigned a number designating the order in which they will speak. Signs near the doors will let speakers know when they should report to the doors so that they can enter the lobby before speaking. Anyone entering the LCPS Administration Building is required to wear a face covering while in the building, including while making public comments to the School Board. Speakers will be asked to stand in line in the lobby of the building with a minimum of 6 feet of separation from other members of the public or staff who may be present. Speakers will be admitted to the Board Room to make comments one at a time, and will be asked to leave the room immediately after making their comments. LIVE VIRTUAL COMMENTS Live virtual comments will be accepted from remote participants who register to attend the meeting using the WebEx Meeting system. Speakers should visit this form to register to make Live Virtual Comments at the March 23, 2021, School Board meeting. Each registrant will receive a unique speaker identification (ID) number. The unique speaker ID information will allow participants to access the meeting to make live public comment. Speakers are prohibited from sharing speaker access information with others and will forfeit the opportunity to speak if the information is shared. Speakers must be logged into the meeting at the time their name is called to speak. WRITTEN PUBLIC COMMENTS Written public comments can be submitted using the Written Public Comment Submission for Loudoun County School Board Meetings form. Written comments may be submitted through this form during the two business days prior to a School Board meeting, until 1 1/2 hours before the start of the meeting. Comments will be provided to School Board members during the meeting, and will be posted to the BoardDocs meeting page afterward. TIME LIMIT Speakers must limit comments to the time allotted by the Chair and announced prior to the public comment period. The Chair determines the time based on the number of speakers and the agenda, but not to exceed five minutes. (The typical time allotted for individual comments is one minute.)
