何大一 (David Da-i Ho)(1952-) is a Chinese American AIDS researcher, physician, and virologist. Dr. David Ho is recognized as one of the leaders in AIDS research, his seminal discovery about the dynamic nature of HIV and development of combination antiretroviral therapy( 鸡尾酒疗法) has resulted in dramatic reductions in AIDS-associated mortality in developed countries since 1996.

Born in Taiwan and immigrated to the US at age of 12, Dr. Ho received his degrees from California Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School. He has been actively engaged in AIDS research with over 500 papers. Dr. Ho is the founding scientific director and CEO for the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, a world-renowned biomedical research institute. In addition to championing the combination anti-retroviral therapy, he and his team have been developing the vaccine to halt the spread of AIDS. He is also leading an effort in the COVID-19 virus research.

Dr. Ho has received numerous honors and awards for his scientific accomplishments, including a Presidential Medal in 2001.  Not only being part of several scientific groups, Dr. Ho is also a member of the Committee of 100, an Chinese American organization with the mission to “encourage constructive relations between the peoples of the United States and Greater China”.
